For the antennae I used a quilling technique. Take the small strip of construction paper and fold it in half. Take a thin chop stick or crochet hook and curl the end of one side around and hold it for about thirty seconds. Do the same to the other end. If it does not curl enough, re-wrap it and hold it a bit longer.
Bible Application:
This craft can be used to teach the creation story for young children. I made a mobile of butterfiles for our church nursery when I taught babies. It was a good opportunity to hold it up and talk about how God made the pretty butterfiles.
And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
